As part of her new position as the Chastain-Johnston Middle Eastern Studies Distinguished Professor in Peace Studies, Dr. Shannon has organized a lecture series at FAU for the 2019-2020 academic year to promote Middle Eastern Studies. The first event is “The 40th Anniversary of the Iran Hostage Crisis: An Evening with Roham Alvandi, Ph.D.” on Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. in the Nursing Building, Room 113 on the FAU Boca Raton campus.
